Finally - Mesh Wings!

Hi Everyone,

I finally made some mesh wings!

I had this big novel in my head to describe why it took so long and some of the changes we've made. But here is the shorter version - we stripped down some of the features to make scripting easier and redesigned the HUD for a more streamlined look.

Biggest change - no droop position. I wrestled with this one a lot, but it was one of the things holding me back (I've never liked making the droop positions on wings, I always feel like they don't come out well), and mesh doesn't work like sculpties, so you can't have the wings themselves change - so you would always have an invsi prim of the non drooped wing (which would drive me NUTS). I'm not ruling drooped wings for the future, I just ruled it out in order to finally make something.

Changes you asked for - change the size of the HUD (done! and if you have problems, let me know, I can make it bigger/smaller etc very easily). Put colors on a HUD so you don't have 20 different versions of 1 wing in your inventory.

So onto the wings!

These are currently available at the Fantasy Faire - which runs April 23rd through May 3rd.

These are the RFL items (the specific color sets), all proceeds go to benefit RFL and while I may have them in my store for a few months in case anyone can't get into the Faire, they won't be around long (but you might see them at next year's faire).

Material Squirrel @ Fantasy Faire - Relay for Life Items!

The Fantasy Faire opens today at noon (tho it might be open a bit earlier). Material Squirrel is on the Meandervale sim!

I have two new sets of wings for the Relay for Life benefit items (all sales go to benefit RFL). These are exclusive for RFL and will not be offered for sale after June EVER AGAIN. (After the Faire they will be up in my store until June).

The first is the Maiestre Fairy Wings in both regular avatar and petite/mini avatar sizes. These come in 10 colors and are 299L.

The second is a Fantasy Faire special - only 35L for 2 wings! Also in regular and petite avatar sizes

I've also released 3 new sets of Butterfly/fairy wings (NOT for RFL) at this Faire. Will be blogging about those soon too!

With a bit of a heavy heart, I have decided to close my small clothing/accessory store, Haunted Zuzu. This was just a side project I've worked on at times over the years. I know the mesh fair is super crowded and rather laggy for many - so I've put the mesh items in my new wings section - everything EXCEPT the 10L horn special. Material Squirrel at March Mesh Madness Fair

Material Squirrel has several new mesh horns and tails available at the March Mesh Madness Fair. The Arna Horns are the fair special - for each color pack! (10L for dark pack, 10L for light pack). These horns are scripted with 6 textures each, size change, and animations. PLUS they include a petite mesh version (for Yabusaka Loon's petite fairy mesh).

You can see the horns and tails available at the fair on my flickr page and I'll be blogging them for the next few days as well.

This is the second to last fair I will do this year (the next is the Fantasy Faire in April).

A few other things:
I moved my subscriber list to a different system - it won't change how you get notices, etc. (It allows me to have a lower cost per month and avoid the new throttle limit.) BUT I did lose 700 subscribers when I switched so please check if you aren't getting notices from me.

Also - many of you are crazy about the new petite mesh avs from Yabusaka Loon - I love them too! Many of Material Squirrel's wings do not size down far enough to fit these little creatures - I'm working on it! If you have a set of wings that you would like to fit, please please let me know and I will fit them for you.

New Pixie Wings

I'm redoing the pixie wings at Material Squirrel. Actually, I'm making new ones as the old ones were well, quite old. I'd hoped to have more done before I released these, but that didn't happen. These are very small wings, best for smaller avs, tho there is no reason why bigger avs can't wear them too!

Starlight Wing Hunt!

The Starlight Wing Hunt is open now at Winged Isle/Material Squirrel! I've set out 15 stars each with a color variation of the pictured Starlight Wings. Just look for the sculpted star shape pictured above. I've done some really easy ones and some harder stars, but I haven't made it 'tear your hair out' difficult. No stars are half-hidden in a wall or anything like that.

I did not get a chance to do my usual Christmas free wing hunt, but I am still planning on doing it in January!

New Mesh Antlers! (or Queen of Procrastination finishes Holiday project RIGHT before holiday, weee)

Yay! I finished my first Mesh project - mesh antlers. The really great advantage of mesh is that the antlers can be seamless as one prim, no slight gaps where one sculpt meets another!

Each set of horns comes with 12 texture options scripted in, scripted size change and 3 animations. They are NOT rigged tho so you can modify them.

I've also done a Christmas Edition of both - the Christmas package includes the REGULAR version and also, some sculpted prims because I ran out of time to do something else.

Also, for a limited time I have transfer versions available in case you want to give a gift.  You can still give a gift of the copy/modify versions too - my vendor program allows you to give a gift to a specific av, just touch the vendor - but I know some people like to give things in boxes personally. The transfer version will out for a limited time only because copy/mod makes my life much easier ;)

Oh, and if you haven't heard yet, you need a Mesh viewer to view these!! Phoenix has a mesh release now!

Dark Fairy Wings - Updated

A big change is (slowly) coming to Material Squirrel - I'm repackaging all of my flexi wings into color packs of 10 colors (same wing style) for the same price 299L. So you get 10 wings for 299L. Unfortunately (this is the catch), this is going to take me awhile to complete.  I've just finished the Dark Fairy Wing section, so please come take a look if you are interested in the style. (Please note this is NOT an upgrade to existing flexi wing version. The current version is still 4.2.1)

All of these wings are also in my new vendors - which allow you to buy as a gift or with store credit. And all my new vendors allow you to earn store credit. For every set of wing packs (or set of wings), you will receive store credit. Once that adds up, you can use your store credit to buy some wings!  If you wear your Material Squirrel group tag, you also get 10L extra in credit for each purchase.
